4 Months After Explaining ‘Wedding Ring Ritual’, Nikola Jokic Hilariously Talks About Nuggets’ Championship Ring
The Denver Nuggets fans highly anticipate the team’s ring night, which will be held just a few hours ahead of tonight’s season opener. Like the fans, Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic and the rest of the team are also excited to collect their championship rings after winning the 2023 NBA championship.
The Joker gets his NBA Championship ring tomorrow… So what does he plan to do with it? 👀💍🃏

The Joker, however, had a unique reply regarding displaying the ring after the ceremony. The Serbian can often be seen tying his wedding ring to his shoe since he married in 2020. However, when it comes to extending the same courtesy to his first NBA silverware, the Serbian big man joked that the Championship ring is ‘too big’ to fit in his shoe.
In the interview embedded above, a reporter gave Jokic the idea to tie his NBA ring on his shoe after the ring ceremony like he does with his wedding ring. “I like your idea my friend, but it’s kind of too big,” Jokic replied.
The real reason behind Nikola Jokic wearing his wedding ring on his left shoe
Fans must have noticed Nikola Jokic wearing his wedding ring on his left shoe. Four months back, the 2023 Finals MVP explained why he follows this ritual before every game to NBA Europe. For Jokic, there’s nothing more significant than his own family. In a way, wearing the ring on his shoe reminds him of the love and support that he receives from his family every day to continue being one of the best in the league.
Nikola Jokic married his wife, Natalija Jokic, on October 24, 2020, in Sombor, Serbia. Though the wedding was initially planned for June 2020, the date got further pushed back after the NBA announced the bubble in Orlando, Florida, following the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, Jokic has made it a regular practice to tie his wedding ring to his shoes before every game.
Perhaps nobody has seen the Joker as happy as he was during his wedding day. The Nuggets superstar was seen dancing and singing with his new bride with tremendous joy. He wasn’t that happy again, even after winning his first NBA championship this year!

The couple became parents in 2021 as their daughter Ognjena was born in September of that year. Following his daughter’s birth, Jokic had a standout season, winning the NBA MVP award for the second year in a row and leading the Nuggets to a playoff appearance. Fans can often find Natalija and Ognjena supporting Jokic from the sidelines, with the 2x MVP shouting out to his family after every game.
