7 Months After Shaquille O’Neal Called Kyrie Irving an ‘Idiot’, Daughter Me’Arah Goes Against Her Father With ‘One of the Greatest’ Praise for Kai

Shaquille O’Neal has established himself as a household name in America. The Lakers legend and TNT host is known for being straightforward with his rhetoric. This trend follows suit in his personal life as well. The father of 6 children, Shaq is known to be very involved in his children’s lives. But the Diesel saves most of his politeness for his children, as on-air he is known to be ‘ruthless’ with his takes.

A few months ago, Shaq had his candid behavior on full display again. Kyrie Irving received a lot of backlash for promoting a movie with supposed anti-semitic undertones. Shaq called Kyrie an ‘idiot’ for his insensitive and potentially dangerous actions, during a TNT broadcast. But in a surprising turn of events, Shaq’s youngest daughter Me’Arah(Meezy) has recently called Irving “one of the greatest ever” on her Instagram while posting a picture with the Dallas guard.

Shaq’s daughter trains under Kyrie Irving at Camp Hela

The O’Neal family has a lot of talented hoopers. It is no surprise that most of them are promising athletes considering the pool of insane genetics running in the family. But out of the entire bunch, Meezy is looking to be the most promising. Me’Arah has already received multiple D1 offers from the likes of Lousiana State University and UCLA.

The Crossroads forward was even chosen to be part of the prestigious EYBL Nike tournament which is an invitation-only league for the top high school prospects. But Me’Arah seems to be taking her dream to make the WNBA very seriously.

A top NCAA prospect, the 17-year-old was seen taking part at Camp Hela, which is run by Kyrie Irving. After her workout at the camp, Me’Arah posted a picture with Kai, thanking him for the experience, and also calling the Mavericks guard “one of the greatest players ever“.

The post seemed to intrigue many fans as the recent few years have seen Shaq being openly critical of Kyrie. On multiple occasions, Shaq has let the world know about his opinions on Kyrie’s ‘antics’. Taking that into consideration, it would be interesting to see how he responds to his daughter’s Instagram story.

O’Neal agreed with Kendrick Perkins’ comments on Kyrie Irving’s legacy

A few months ago, O’Neal and Kyrie locked horns surrounding the latter’s controversial promotion of a movie with supposed anti-semitic undertones. Calling Kyrie an “idiot”, Shaq advised him to act more responsibly with the influence he has. But the four-time NBA champion wasn’t the only one to call Kai out. In an episode of “NBA Today”, Kendrick Perkins called Irving’s legacy into question. In the eyes of Perkins, Kyrie’s lack of commitment and off-the-court antics have done nothing but hurt his legacy as a player.

Shaq, who has had his beef with Perkins in the past, surprisingly agreed with his take as he took to Instagram to share it. With all the drama surrounding Kyrie, it would be interesting to see how his next season with Dallas alongside Luka pans out.
