8 Years After 'Not Celebrating' His $94,300,000 Extension, Kawhi Leonard Couldn't Contain His Excitement After Blocking His Own Teammate

Kawhi Leonard is one of the best two-way superstars that the league has ever seen. However, despite being a formidable force on both ends of the floor, Leonard is more famously known for being an emotionless character. Kawhi isn’t the type of player who is too animated. In fact, some even regard the two-time NBA Champ as a “robot” or a “cyborg”. However, after spending a decade as a professional in the NBA, ‘the Klaw’ seems to have had a slight change in personality. Perhaps due to this, as seen in Joey Linn‘s tweet, the Los Angeles Clippers star has had some hilarious moments during the training camp prior to the 2023-2024 season tipping-off.

Unlike many other players in the league, Kawhi Leonard had a pretty dull reaction to signing a massive five-year, $94,300,000 extension in 2015. Other stars in the league splurge huge amounts of money on jewelry, cars, watches, and holidays. Having quite a “Kawhi-esque” reaction though, Leonard replied with a “No, not at all”, when asked if he celebrated signing the max contract.

Kawhi Leonard reveals excitement after blocking Terrance Mann in training

The Los Angeles Clippers seemed to be having fun during their recent practice session. Quite unlike him, Kawhi Leonard even got hyped at one point in the practice. During a drill, the two-time Finals MVP blocked Terrance Mann’s layup attempt. After pulling off the spectacular defensive play, the 6ft 7” forward let out a loud “Yeah” and continued to scream for a brief moment.

No, it is not as elaborate a celebration. But considering the fact that the 32-year-old is stoic in nature, the other members of the Clippers also got hyped for a bit. However, as seen in the video, Leonard was back to normal in no time.

Surprisingly, the “Fun Guy” has been expressing his excitement all training camp long. Apart from constantly smiling and laughing during practice, Leonard even went viral on social media for dancing alongside Russell Westbrook.

For a man who often gains comparisons to the Terminator due to his lack of emotion, Leonard seems to be having a fun offseason.m

Mann couldn’t celebrate an iconic moment of the 2023 postseason with Leonard

Kawhi Leonard has become much more expressive over the past few years. For starters, the man has now learned to laugh “normally”. However, there are still moments in his career where Leonard decides to behave like his eccentric self.

During an appearance on the Run Your Pace podcast, Terrance Mann revealed a hilarious moment from the 2023 postseason. Now, during Game 1 of the Clippers-Suns series, K-Law was having a spectacular performance. At one point in the contest, Kawhi stripped Kevin Durant of the ball and finished the play with an emphatic dunk on the other end.

Wanting to celebrate with Leonard, Mann disclosed that the two-time Defensive Player of the Year had absolutely no reaction. Not allowing his emotions to get the better of him, the “Terminator” went on to lead the California side to a huge win.
