After Campaigning For Jody Allen’s $2.1 Billion Blazers Sale, Damian Lillard Backtracks: “She’s Been Very Solid To Me And My Family”
Damian Lillard has displayed his loyalty to the Portland Trail Blazers for quite a few years. However, in hopes to win a Championship, Lillard recently demanded a trade after spending 11 long years with the Oregon side. It’s been almost two weeks since Dame’s trade request has been made public. And so far, the front office has given no indication of making a move for him yet. In the midst of all the trade talks, the 6-foot-2 Guard added fuel to the fire by liking a tweet of a Blazers fan who asked the $2.1 billion franchise to be sold to Phil Knight. Just a day later, the sharpshooter clears the air by speaking about Jody Allen’s impact on his life.
It seems like there is a controversy brewing every summer. Last year, reports suggested that there was friction between Jody Allen and Lillard. Apparently, the Portland Trail Blazers owner wasn’t answering the star’s phone calls. But, Lillard put an end to these rumors during his conversation with Chris Haynes.
Damian Lillard speaks about his relationship with Jody Allen
A day after his social media activity suggested that he wanted Phil Knight to be the new owner of the Blazers, Damian Lillard went on an Instagram live to set the record straight. Calling his move of liking the tweet a ‘mishap’, the seven-time All-Star went on to speak highly about Jody Allen and the other members of the management. Take a look at how Dame cleared the air in Landon Buford’s tweet.
“Judy has been very solid to me in many ways that has nothing to do with the Trailblazers or basketball. Don’t run with that at all. She has been very solid to me and my family.”

As you may have expected, Dame has now unliked the same tweet.
With the Miami Heat not yet being able to close a deal acquiring Lillard, it definitely was the correct move to dismiss his original claims.
Updates on Lillard’s trade request
The Miami Heat are the frontrunners expected to add Damian Lillard to their roster. However, over the past few days, there has been a massive twist in the story. As first expressed by Blazers General Manager Joe Cronin, the front office is ready to wait several “months” to get the best package in exchange for their star. As mentioned by Adrain Wojnarowski, the Western Conference franchise isn’t going to rush into accepting a “bad deal”. Take a lot at the details of the scenario in Evan Sidery’s tweet.

– Timeline for potential deal still likely to be weeks or months from now.
– Trail Blazers will not rush into what they consider a “bad deal” from the Heat.

It won’t be surprising if Dame starts the 2023-2024 season donning the Blazers uniform.
