Jimmy Butler is having an unforgettable postseason run. As the No. 8-seeded team, Jimmy G Buckets has led the Miami Heat to the NBA Finals after having upset the Bucks, Knicks, and Celtics. After the Heat’s ECF win, Neymar Jr. joined millions from around the world who congratulated Butler for being the 2023 ECF MVP. During the latest media availability, the Miami leader detailed his friendship with the $200,000,000-worth football sensation. The two-way star also named a few tennis stars as his source of inspiration.

Butler has one of the most inspiring rags-to-riches stories in NBA history. As somebody who hustled at every step during his way to the league, the 6-time All-Star doesn’t really need to draw inspiration from any other personality. However, Butler did reveal being left in awe of the greatness of Alexander Zverev, Carlos Alcaraz, and Serena Williams.

Butler and Neymar have been great pals since the summer of 2018. The two gifted athletes have been seen cheering each other up in various instances.

Right after winning the Larry Bird Trophy, the Paris-Saint Germain star posted a photo on his Instagram, congratulating Jimmy.

Ahead of the NBA Finals, during media availability, the 6-foot-7 swingman spoke about the bond he shared with the Brazilian forward. Further talking about being impressed by Neymar’s highlight videos, Butler was grateful that his friend was supporting the Florida-based franchise.

“He better be there. Ney, I know you are looking somewhere, you better be there. That’s my guy. Part of my routine on game days and off days, I watch all types of sports of people who inspired me to be great. He is one of them. I have probably seen each of his highlight videos way too many times… Obviously, he [Neymar] is a close friend of mine so I pay attention to him a lot. With him in my corner, I think I will be okay.”

Is Jimmy dating popstar Shakira?

Over the past few weeks, social media has brought up a wild theory of Butler dating Shakira.

According to Twitteratis, the 3 events – the popstar attending Game 3 of the ECF, both of them following each other, and the Columbian songwriter’s son wearing a Butler jersey for Halloween – are good enough evidence to support their suspicion.

It seems rather irrational to jump to a conclusion just based on these few incidents.

While there is no concrete evidence to support the same, we can assume that the rumors are simply false.
