Amidst The Victor Wembanyama Hype Train, Stephen Curry Hypes Up Scoot Henderson Before 2023 Draft: “An Unbelievable Talent!”

The 2023 Draft has been one of the most talked about topics for quite some time now. While the 2022-2023 season has been a terrific year, all attention is diverted to Victor Wembanyama, Scoot Henderson, and the rest of the class. Being termed as the best prospect since LeBron James, Wemby is considered to be the undisputed #1 pick. With the entire focus of the upcoming draft being highlighted on the French phenom, Stephen Curry is one of the very few personalities talking about the immense talent that Henderson possesses.

After the conclusion of the G-League season, Scoot wasted no time to begin his preparations for the draft. The 19-year-old worked out with Steph’s training team in Oakland, California.

Over the course of mentoring the 6-foot-2 prodigy, Curry has revealed to have learned a lot about his character and cannot wait to have healthy battles on the NBA hardwood.

“Scoot Henderson is a high character guy”: Stephen Curry

Apart from mentoring the youngster to develop on the court, the NBA’s 2-time Most Valuable Player is even giving assistance to Scoot for the completion of his goals of giving back to the community.

Recently, Chef Curry made an appearance on “Inside the NBA” to accept the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award for Social Justice. During the must-see interview, the sharpshooter even spoke about Henderson’s commitment to making an impact in the community.

“He’s got a vision and a passion for using the platform that he’s been given. Even at this early stage to impact the community where he’s from and knowing that he’s just getting started. Everything that I’ve learned throughout my last 14 years, I wanna be able to give that back to the next generation of hoopers that are coming through… Our values are aligned. His family is amazing. We want to be resources for them to continue to as he goes through his career.”

Finally, the Baby-Faced Assassin even talked about the projected lottery pick’s potential as a player.

“Scoot’s a unbelievable talent. He’s a high character guy. It’s going to be cool to compete with him on the floor.”

The projected #1 and #2 picks of the 2023 draft have had phenomenal seasons at the LNB Pro A and G-League, respectively.

Wemby took home several awards including league MVP, Scoring Champion, Blocked Shots Champion, Best Young Player Award, and the Defensive Player of the Year. On the other hand, Scoot recorded 16.5 points, 6.5 assists, and 5.4 rebounds during his stint with the young Ignite team.

Prior to the commencement of the current season, the both of them even went head to head in the Metropolitans’ 92-G League Ignite exhibition games.

Even though Scoot went out with an injury early in Game 2, their duel from the 1st contest was as interesting as everyone expected it to be. While Henderson lodged 28/5/9 in the 122-115 win, the 7-foot-4 big man put up 37 points and 5 blocks.
