The NBA season is about to come to an end in roughly four days. It’s been an intense year, with the Western Conference standing still in hanging. Amidst all the NBA drama, things came to a halt when the LSU Tigers faced the Iowa Hawkeyes in the NCAA Championship Game. Angel Reese vs Caitlin Clark, it was a show for a lifetime.

In the end, it was the LSU Tigers who emerged victorious. Instead of celebrating the Tigers’ achievements, people on the internet were fixated on Angel’s celebration directed towards Clark.
This got a lot of criticism from trolls and haters online. Shaquille O’Neal stood up for Reese and defended her, and so did a lot of other celebrities. The latest to do so is Draymond Green, who chose to speak about the same in his podcast, The Draymond Green Show.
Draymond Green praises Caitlin Clark, congratulates Angel Reese
This year’s March Madness was indeed very maddening. Only 2.4% of the brackets stayed intact till the end of the tournament. No one expected any of the teams in the Championship game, neither the women’s game, nor the men’s game. However, the backlash faced by Reese for her actions was not justified at all. Draymond Green spoke about the same in his latest podcast episode. He said,
“I’ve seen some of the things people have said, and quite frankly, I think it’s absolutely ridiculous. Angel did this[mimics the celebration], and everyone makes it like she went and committed a crime. This is basketball, I beat you, and you had an opportunity to stop me, and you didn’t. I don’t want to sit and make this a race thing.”
“These girls go out here and win a national championship and all we want to talk about is a celebration that happened towards the end of the game. Angel goes and wins Most Outstanding Player of the Tournament and we want to talk about her doing you can’t see me.”
“Caitlin Clark, you are incredible, a game changer, has some things that can possibly help take the women’s game to the next level. Angel Reese, champ, keep talking your sh*t. Keep doing what you do, keep winning, and keep letting them hear about it!”
Draymond also recalled the time Al Horford flexed in his face after Game 1 of the 2022 NBA Finals. It wasn’t a problem back then, but Reese doing it is a problem? The double standards are truly astonishing.
Caitlin Clark had no issue with Reese’s celebration
While people on the internet were getting butt hurt by what Reese did, the one she did it to had no issue. In a recent interview, Caitlin Clark spoke about the celebration and said,
“I don’t think Angel should be criticized at all. No matter what way it goes, she should never be criticized for what she did. I compete, she competed. It was a super, super fun game. I think that’s what’s going to bring more people to our game.”
