This first round series between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Memphis Grizzlies has been the most entertaining series we have in these 2022 Playoffs. Everything from Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards talking up a storm to the Grizzlies to them returning the favor on social media combined with fast-paced action has become a recipe for high-level entertainment.
Not to mention the fact that Morant and Towns’ dads are hilariously going at one another on the sidelines of every game. The trash-talk in this series has been elite and it feels as though neither team can back it up as they lose a game right after talking up a storm.
The way Ja Morant broke out onto the scene in last year’s Playoffs against the Utah Jazz is something Anthony Edwards seems to be following. He’s averaging 24.8 points on 42.1% shooting from beyond and has only missed three free throws the entire series.
Karl-Anthony Towns finally has some help and he’s loving it.
Karl-Anthony Towns on Anthony Edwards.
Karl-Anthony Towns had quite the redemptive game tonight as he became the second Minnesota Timberwolves player in franchise history to register a 30 and 10 Playoff game. The other was of course, Kevin Garnett who did it on 7 occasions.
Following the game, Towns took to his post-game presser to applaud Anthony Edwards for the way he played tonight and the way he’s been playing all throughout the series.

“Maybe the most talented player I’ve ever played with.”

This is quite the statement as Towns has played with Kevin Garnett, Jimmy Butler, and Andrew Wiggins and is currently playing with D’Angelo Russell. However, the first year that Towns gets to play with an experienced version of ANT, he makes it to the Playoffs and gives the 2nd seeded Grizzlies a run for their money.
It wouldn’t be shocking in the slightest if this series were to go 7 games and end up at FedEx Forum for that 7th game.
