"Antron Pippen, you're forever in our thoughts": Scottie and Larsa Pippen mourn the death of Scottie's first-born son due to chronic asthma issues

Larsa Pippen consoles her ex-spouse Scottie Pippen after the death of his eldest son. Antron Pippen died of complications related to asthma.

Scottie Pippen is currently going through an emotional time as his firstborn son Antron succumbed to a case of chronic asthma. Antron was 33 years old, born to Scottie and his first wife Karen McCollum in 1988.

Antron was a promising college basketball player before a diagnosis revealed his long-term respiratory problem. JaVale McGee is an NBA-level player who plays through asthma, but these are very rare cases and not the norm.

Antron was unable to pursue a career in pro ball. But he did play semi-professional ball. The Daily Mail reports that Antron Pippen was working as a machine technician at the time of his death.

The Bulls legend revealed the sad news of his firstborn son’s demise through social media:

“I’m heartbroken to share that yesterday, I said goodbye to my firstborn son Antron. The two of us shared a love for basketball and we had countless conversations about the game.”

“Antron suffered from chronic asthma and if he hadn’t had it, I truly believe he would’ve made it to the NBA. He never let that get him down, though – Antron stayed positive and worked hard, and I am so proud of the man that he became.”

“Please keep his mom, Karen, and all of his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers. A kind heart and beautiful soul gone way too soon. I love you, son, rest easy until we meet again.”
