"Brad Stevens got the opportunity that a black man would never get": Stephen A Smith begins race-baiting regarding Celtics job, gets his character assassinated by NBA Twitter

It seems that Stephen A Smith has been placed by ESPN on one talk show after another simply to spew nonsense. His rant at Brad Stevens is proof.

Stephen A Smith wants NBA players to call out organizations for giving white athletes preferential treatment. This is his whole argument basically:

“Sam Cassell never got the opportunity be a front office executive, even though he’s done a ton of good work. Chauncey Billups wanted an executive position, why doesn’t he get one?”

“Meanwhile Steve Nash, who has a great black agent in Bill Duffy, gets the job. And he gets it without any prior coaching experience, with the full support of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant. Who, by the way, never insisted that a black candidate be considered for the job.”

How exactly Stephen A Smith is race-baiting when talking about the Brad Stevens appointment

First of all, it is pretty rich of Stephen A Smith to talk about uplifting black men when he dedicates half of his showtime to criticizing them. 90% of the time, Stephen A’s criticism is unfounded and would make a real basketball coach’s blood boil.

This is a man who goes up on national TV to demean the qualifications of Hall of Fame coaches and players just because they’re white. Just think about it – he questions Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant’s motives in backing Steve Nash. Durant and Kyrie have donated more money to black-owned businesses and are doing more for their own communities in 2021 than SAS will get done in his whole life.

The logic behind Brad Stevens’ appointment appears to be quite straightforward. Stevens was a huge part of the Celtics’ decision-making process at the NBA Draft and has by and large redeemed himself in talent identification.

He’s also been a successful head coach for the entirety of his duration in Boston. This is a man who, not long ago, was in contention for Coach of the Year honors.

Stephen A Smith has 0 proof that Stevens is a bad choice for the job at hand. He also has 0 proof that Stevens is unworthy of a front office role. He also fails to mention how many black people get jobs in the league without real experience in their role.

Hell, James Jones might win Executive of the Year honors. So could Elton Brand under Daryl Morey. And yet Stephen A has the nerve to go on national TV and demand preferential treatment for black former athletes and coaches?

NBA Twitter berates SAS for his asinine ‘First Take’

As expected, NBA Twitter saw right through this phony basketball guy’s arguments. They didn’t care much for it, but some of them took the time out to expose SAS.
