Bronny James received a ringing endorsement from Rashad Philips. LeBron and Uncle Kendrick Perkins couldn’t be prouder of the 16-year-old.

LeBron James has been on the record for a long time stating that his ultimate dream is to play on the same NBA team as his own son. It seems that his son is definitely doing his level best to try and fulfil that dream.
Bronny is a 6’4″ guard currently in his sophomore year of high school. This past year has been tough on him as he suffered a torn meniscus and had to undergo surgery. He was only able to play 1 game this year, which was their championship game last weekend.
Junior showed us all yet more glimpses of his potential and basketball IQ in the limited minutes that he did play. He can definitely look forward to the next season with a lot more positivity after reading Rashad Philips’ scouting report.
LeBron acknowledges the love shown to Bronny by Kendrick Perkins and Rashad Philips
Rashad posted a short, but extremely positive breakdown of Bronny’s game on Twitter last night. In his words,
“He’s is a 6’4 combo guard with excellent defensive instincts and upper body strength. He excels in open court and also has a good feel on offense. He’s a streaky but confident shooter. He’s actually good. Well done.”
“Bronny James has tremendous defensive timing, strength, and awareness. His jump shot mechanics looks good from the rotation of the ball to his release point. Powerful upper body for a 6’4 kid and quick feet. The kid can play.”
This isn’t the first positive review we’ve seen from a basketball mind either. Gilbert Arenas trained Bronny for a few days, and he came away quite impressed by how well LeBron James has trained him:
“He’s your clone, you don’t need to be worried. Just from looking at him, you were probably taller, you’ve got the same speed, he probably jumps higher. Passes probably the same, IQ probably the same, he shoots better and dribbles better. He [James] said ‘that is actually correct.’”
As expected, LeBron accepted these reviews with class and humility, responding with a tweet of his own. Kendrick Perkins was prompted to join in with all this positivity as well.
Appreciate it #Yoda. We just over here just working and preaching how to play the game the RIGHT way! 🙏🏾
