"Call Giannis superman, just call me Shaq!": Lakers legend surprises everyone in the NBA community with his most recent post on Instagram

Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal heaps some massive praise onto the shoulder of Giannis Antetokounmpo through a post on Instagram

Giannis Antetokounmpo is easily the most similar player to Shaquille O’Neal the NBA has had since the Diesel himself retired. But as an overall player, he’s far better.

That may seem like a hot take at first. But, once you really think about it, the statement starts to seem like more of a fact than an opinion.

Giannis and Shaq approximately have the same height, but the Bucks star is simply far more versatile as a player. He is capable of making good reads to find shooters in open spots, while also being able to dominate the paint. On the other hand, while O’Neal was dominant (and we mean DOMINANT) in the paint on both ends, he was almost like a fish out of water anywhere else.

Now, for those that still disagree with us, would you believe it if Shaq himself said it? Because if that’s the case, this could be a debate you might have to concede.

Let’s get into it.

“Call him Superman, just call me Shaq”: Shaquille O’Neal openly encourages the bequeathment of his nickname to Giannis Antetokounmpo

You know you’re good when Shaquille O’Neal is prompting you to take his nickname from him.

For those that don’t know, the title of Superman has always been incredibly near and dear to the Lakers legend’s heart. We’ve seen the player have genuine beef with players like Dwight Howard over just the nickname. So, when the former player put up his recent post on Instagram, needless to say, countless fans were pleasantly surprised. Take a look at it below.

Incredible. That’s the only way you can describe these two.

At 26-years-old, Giannis Antetokounmpo already has his first ring. Can he win another? Will he ever match Shaq’s tally? Or will this be the only championship of his career?

Only time will tell.
