Charles Barkley makes shocking admission about ‘Inside the NBA’: “I said like 3 years and I’m going to move on to bigger and better things”
Charles Barkley talks about how he joined Inside the NBA on TNT, admitting there was once a time where he believed he would leave.
Love them or hate them, the Inside crew have undeniably been a massive part of the NBA community for a long time. ‘Inside the NBA’ on TNT comprises of four panelists, with three of them being former NBA players.
There have been guest appearances by many on the show from time to time, but the main cast has stayed. They are Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny Smith, Ernie Johnson, and the Round Mound of Rebound, Charles Barkley.
While he does make some weird takes from time to time, the ‘Chuckster’ is usually the goofier and lovable panelist. He has also become somewhat iconic in modern sports media, for his almost daily arguments with Shaq.
Recently though, Charles Barkley revealed what his initial plans were with ‘Inside the NBA’, and boy is it interesting. Let’s get into it.

Charles Barkley makes an interesting admission about the show ‘Inside the NBA’
Charles Barkley has become one of the most important parts of the show ‘Inside the NBA’ over his long tenure with TNT. However, the former MVP has admitted this was never part of his plan. Speaking on the topic, Chuck had this to say.
“When I took the job, Ernie asked me how long I was going to be there. And I said like 3 years and I’m going to move on to bigger and better things. But nothing bigger and better has come along, that’s why I’m stuck there.”

Despite this quote though, Charles Barkley also went on to say that joining the Inside Crew was “the best decision of my life”. It’s a good thing he doesn’t regret his actions. Because for us personally, ‘Inside the NBA’ would never quite be the same without him.
