"Cristiano Ronaldo Is A Good Friend Of Mine": When Kobe Bryant Surprised Cancer Patient With A Signed CR7 Jersey

Kobe Bryant is remembered as one of the greatest players of all time. The Laker legend was known for his skill, scoring ability, and extreme competitiveness. But, there is far more to the Black Mamba than just his career as an NBA superstar.

For starters, Kobe is one of the nicest athletes off the court. The man cares so much for his fans, especially those in need. All you have to do is see all the work he has done for the community, charities, and more. All in the name of his fans.

So, when a nurse at a hospital requested Bryant to come to visit a young cancer patient, he obliged. After all, both the nurse and Kobe himself assumed the boy was a fan. However, to their pleasant surprise, he was actually a soccer fan. In particular, a fan of Cristiano Ronaldo. So, what did Kobe do? Get him a signed jersey of course.

Kobe Bryant once surprised a young cancer patient with a signed Cristiano Ronaldo jersey

The world of sports is home to many celebrity superstars. At one point, the two biggest names in the game, were perhaps soccer legend, Cristiano Ronaldo, and the late great Kobe Bryant. Both men, with equally large and equal loyal fan bases.

So, it isn’t that surprising to hear that the two men do a lot for those who support them. This happened to be the case one time when the Black Mamba was invited to a hospital. A hospital, where he went to meet a young cancer patient, named Jorge. But, their meeting didn’t go quite as planned.

Nurse Amber Chavez, who had set up the meeting introduced Kobe to Jorge. The only thing was, Jorge had no idea who the five-time NBA Champion was. He didn’t even watch basketball, much to Kobe’s amusement. Nevertheless, Bryant was determined to make his day. So, when he heard that the young man was a fan of Cristiano Ronaldo, he called up his “good friend”, and got Jorge a signed jersey.

“So, when I walked up to his room, you know, I knocked and I said, “Jorge! Look who’s here to visit you!”. And, he just looks up with like a blank stare. He’s like, “I don’t know who that is. I don’t watch basketball”. So then, I turn over to Kobe and he just smiles because he thinks it’s the funniest thing ever. Then he chimes in, in Spanish, and says, “Well! What do you like to watch?”. And then that’s where he mentions that he loves Cristiano Ronaldo. So then, Kobe’s like, “Oh my gosh! He’s my good friend. I can get you a signed jersey! Would you like that?”. And, Jorge just lit up.”
