'Dennis Schroder is the easily the most annoying person in the league': Channing Frye explains how LeBron James and his Lakers team are on a different level with the German on court

Channing Frye believes that Dennis Schroder is the most annoying, peskiest player in the NBA, and is a huge bonus for the Lakers.

On Sunday night, the Lakers faced against the Stephen Curry-led Golden State Warriors. With six players in double-digits scoring for the Lakers, they managed to defeat the Warriors 117-91. LeBron James had to contribute only 24 minutes to the game, in which he managed to put up 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists.

Credits have to be given to Dennis Schroeder. After missing 4 consecutive games, the German point guard has helped the team to win back-to-back matches. Against the Warriors too, he had a terrific game scoring 12 points and a team-high 6 assists.

A former NBA star and current analyst, Channing Frye stated how well of a defensive threat Schroeder is. He praised the 6-foot-3 guard by calling him an annoying player. Frye added:

“Dennis Schroder, and I’m saying this in the nicest way possible, is the most annoying person in the NBA. He causes havoc. He picks you up full court, he’s going for steals, he’s calling out your plays. What he does for the Lakers is that he gets them easy baskets.”

‘Dennis Schroder has done an incredible job on the defensive end’: Channing Frye

Defense has always been the Lakers’ best suit. Their offensive success is a result of their defensive accomplishments. The defensive impact that Schroder has on the team is immeasurable. Channing Frye continued to state how Schroeder helped King James win matches:

“If you notice, LeBron got two breakaways due to steals. When LeBron gets stuck in the half-court, it’s hard for him to get by guys now that he’s 57 years old. If he can get out in a fast break and that train is coming down the tracks, a lot of people are going to get out of the way.”

“For me, the Lakers defense really predicates their offense, and during the four-game streak without Anthony Davis and without Schroder, they’re having problems getting stops. So for me, Wesley Matthews has stepped up on and off… But Kuzma is a guy that needs to take this opportunity and continue with building blocks. He’s (Schroder) done a great job.”

The Lakers have now managed to be back on a winning run. With Anthony Davis still sidelined with injuries, the role players will have to continue to step it up and help James win games.

The reigning champions now place second in the Western Conference, only behind the Utah Jazz. With half of the season still to go, the Lakers can still clinch that first seed in the conference.
