In 2020, Stephen Curry and his wife Ayesha Curry bought a beautiful $30 million mansion. Their new home is located in Atherton, California, and is quite palatial, spanning 17,761 square feet, with seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms. However, both Ayesha and her husband believed that the one home wasn’t enough. So, they went out and got a condo in San Francisco.

The couple decided to make the purchase because of the distance between their home in Atherton and the city. Having to travel 40 minutes one way, is a bit exhausting. So, a condo in the city seemed perfect. And, to hear Ayesha describe it to Architecture Digest, the home sounds like a family retreat.
Much like their Atherton mansion, their condo in San Fran is something to marvel at. Not so much for its size, but rather the design and insight that went into making it a home away from home.
Ayesha Curry claims her San Francisco condo is a family retreat despite owning a $30 million mansion 40 minutes away
Both Ayesha Curry and her husband Stephen Curry are busy bees. The two have a lot on their plate, Steph with his commitments to the Golden State Warriors, and Ayesha with her culinary and media empire. So, it’s safe to say the days can be taxing.
Add to that, the fact that the two have three adorable children to take care of, and a 40-minute commute to and from Atherton, California, The location of their $30 million mansion, can be taxing. As a result, they decided to buy a luxury condo in the Bay Area, one that was designed in collaboration with Pottery Barn.
The condo has quite the homey feel, with Ayesha’s favorite spot being a nice circular chair that she feels is perfect for reading or having a glass of wine. Add to that, the various traditional and contemporary design elements, plus the fact that it makes it easier for her to spend time with her family, and Ayesha’s description of a “family retreat” is fitting.
“I would call it more of a family retreat. Both Stephen and I do so much work in the city. It only made sense to have a landing spot there, for those weeks when things are a little heightened and we’re in the city a lot. Somewhere we can bring the kids and still kind of have a normal pace of life and have dinner with them.”

It certainly is a beautifully designed home. Although, they may have never got it if they had purchased an $8 luxury condo in Downtown San Francisco.

The condo was quite close to the Chase Center, but perhaps they made the right decision. After all, the building is still struggling to sell units. Having sold only 13 of the 146 available. Meanwhile, the Currys are more than happy with their “family retreat”.
