Despite Minting $37,653,300, Jimmy Butler Brutally Denies Heat Teammates ‘Free’ $20 Big Face Coffee

Jimmy Butler has put on a sensational postseason outing while leading the Miami Heat to the NBA Finals. Having eliminated the Bucks, the Knicks, and the Celtics, Jimmy Buckets was named the ECF MVP as the Heat were crowned the Eastern Conference champions for the 2nd time in 3 years. Jimmy has managed to achieve it all, while successfully running his “Big Face Coffee” brand. Butler even admitted to not handing out any freebies to teammates even if they win the championship. Having charged players $100 for a single cup of coffee, this decision of Jimmy isn’t as surprising.

Back in the Orlando Bubble is when Jimmy began his “Big Face Coffee” venture. Initially, the idea came to Butler as a way of “hustling” other players out of their cash. However, this wasn’t just a one-time project for Butler. Over the past few years, the Heat superstar seems invested in Big Face Coffee – using high-end equipment. Despite earning around $37,653,300 this season, Jimmy does not hand out any free products to his teammates. If they want to enjoy a cup of coffee, they’ll have to pay $20 like any other common man.

“Yesterday’s price is not today’s price”: Jimmy Butler

Ahead of Game 1 of the Finals, Jimmy sat down with ESPN’s Malika Andrews for a must-see interview. At one point in the conversation, Andrews asked the 6-time All-Star whether the teammates would be gifted some “Big Face Coffee” if they end up winning the title.

Giving it an adequate amount of thought, Butler answered ‘No.’ As if $20 wasn’t too much for a regular cup, Butler even revealed his plans of bumping up the prices.

“No, they don’t actually. There’s no favourites here. And actually I’m gonna bump my prices up. Yesterday’s price is not today’s price.”

What started out as a hobby and a smart way of finessing players of their cash has now turned into a full-fledged business for the two-way star.

Playing a vital part in the brand’s work, Butler plans to make Bigface a long-term plan that he’ll work on even after his retirement.

How Butler got players to pay $100 per cup of coffee in the Bubble

During the NBA Bubble, players would receive $4,040 in cash on a daily basis. Apart from two $20 bills, the envelope would be filled with $100 bills.

Butler would charge $20 for a coffee. Providing no change, players who would have more than 2 cups of coffee were compelled to use their $100 bills.

In an appearance on the “ALO Yoga” podcast, Butler explained how he overcharged NBA players.

“In the bubble, we got like cash in envelopes. So I just remember counting it, $4,040. We can’t even spend this cash. So in my mind, I’m thinking ‘How can I hustle everybody out of this cash?’ If I can get people to pay me $20 per cup, eventually they’ll run out of $20 and they’ll have to start paying with $100 bills. And they pay me $100 bills and I just take it and be like ‘Sorry, I don’t have any change.’”

Unfortunately, even Jimmy’s teammates aren’t immune to the mindboggling prices.
