"Devin Booker, Holiday and Middleton are true professionals for keeping their word and participating in the Olympics": Draymond Green compliments his USA Basketball teammates for their commitment right after the 2021 NBA Finals

Draymond Green lauds Devin Booker, Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday for sticking true to their words about participating at the Olympics just days after the conclusion of their tiring NBA Finals.

This 2020-2021 NBA season was like none other. Even though the season was shortened from a normal 82-game campaign to a 72-game campaign, the year was pretty difficult for each and every team because of the hectic schedules, strict health and safety protocols and lesser rest days.

However, no two teams had a longer year than the Phoenix Suns and the NBA champions – Milwaukee Bucks. Apart from the exhausting regular season, the two teams were not only a part of the long and extremely competitive playoffs but also managed to make it to the physical and mentally draining Finals.

It has just been three days since the finals have gotten over, and for an avid NBA fan, these three days would have felt like weeks. From Tuesday night till today, the Bucks lifted the Larry O’Brien trophy, Giannis Antetokounmpo won the FMVP, the championship parade took place in Milwaukee, Devin Booker, Khris Middleton And Jrue Holiday met at Seattle to join the rest of their USA squad at the Olympics Village in Tokyo.

“Respect for Devin Booker, Middleton and Holiday for actually keeping their word and participating at the Olympics”: Draymond Green

For someone who was a part of 8-long months of basketball, the three NBA finalists could’ve very easily chosen to sit out of the 2021 Olympic Games. Especially for Devin Booker, he wouldn’t even have gotten a good breather before meeting the players who blew his 2-0 lead to win the finals. However, showing absolute class and professionalism, all three of the superstars will aim to bring the United States’ fourth-consecutive Men’s Basketball Olympic gold medal in a row.

3-time NBA champion Draymond Green also took notice of the same and gave a few huge compliments to Book, Khris and Jrue. The Team USA veteran lauded the guards:

“I have a lot of respect for those guys for not only committing to do this but actually keeping their word. You’re talking about three true professionals, three extremely competitive guys that wouldn’t be on their way here if this didn’t mean something.”

“We could’ve very easily got to the last game … and Devin Booker saying, ‘Man, we lost, I’m pissed off, I’m out,’ or Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday saying, ‘We just won a championship, I want to celebrate and stay home with my family, I’m out,'” Green said. “It’s on us to make sure that we do our parts to make sure they’re rewarded with what they ultimately came here for, which is to help us to compete and win a gold medal.”
