Donald Trump has blasted the NBA and LeBron James for kneeling during the national anthem and has picked Jordan as his GOAT.
Donald Trump has picked Michael Jordan over LeBron James as the latter has been pretty vocal about criticizing the president over the political and social climate in the country.
The president also bashed the league during his interview with Clay Travis on FOX Sports Radio. Trump recently bashed the league for not standing during the national anthem and threatened to discontinue watching the league as a result. However, basketball superstar LeBron James hit back at Trump claiming that the league wouldn’t care less about his statements.
Donald Trump picks Michael Jordan over LeBron James
6-time NBA champion Michael Jordan has never been vocal about the political aspects of the nation. LeBron James on the contrary has been one of the most vocal players in the league to speak against Trump’s government and systematic racism prevalent in the society.

Trump and LeBron have been at loggerheads ever since the former was elected as the president of the United States of America. Hence, it is no surprise that he picked Jordan over LeBron.
When asked who he would pick between MJ and LeBron, Trump was quick to say Jordan, as, ‘he wasn’t so political’.
The 3-time NBA champion has taken his mission to another level by founding an organization called ‘More than a Vote’ to help fellow African Americans to vote in the upcoming elections.
Interestingly, Jordan has been pretty vocal about the racism in America recently with the basketball icon even contributing several millions to the cause.
However, during his playing days, Jordan used to stay away from making any political statements, as he felt it was not his place to do so.
Trump criticizes the NBA
Trump came down heavily on the league for the unprecedented time during his latest interview. While the NBA Bubble strategy was being put in place, all NBA players made it known that they would use their platform to spread awareness about the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movements and how it impacted the entire nation.
Adam Silver had confirmed that the NBA wouldn’t take any actions against players that kneel during the national anthem, as it was a sign of peaceful protest.
Trump criticized NBA for opting to stand by the players who decided to take a knee during the national anthem. The president said that the league is in “big trouble, bigger trouble than they understand.” The president also criticized NBA people for being “very, very nasty and frankly, very dumb.”
