The Warriors had yet another rough season this year around. The Warriors stumbled and secured the 8th spot in the loaded Western Conference with injuries throughout. However, the end to their season could have been different, had Draymond Green made that wide-open layup.
All that did was get everyone to focus on one of the Warriors’ biggest weaknesses. Draymond Green used to be a good shooting option back during the 73-9 season. However, ever since Kevin Durant made his way to the Bay, Green had to shoot the ball less, and his efficiency went down as well.
According to sources, GM Bob Myers and Head Coach Steve Kerr sat down and discussed the same with Green. According to Steve Kerr, things have changed.
Steve Kerr praises Draymond Green and his recent shooting stroke
Despite the tragic final two games, the last 20 games of the season were a bright part of the season for the Warriors. Stephen Curry was an absolute blazing fireball, and the Dubs won most of their games. With the return of Klay Thompson next season, the Warriors fans’ are already hyped for the 2021-22 season.
With what Steve Kerr shared post-practice yesterday, the hype is expected to rise even further. Talking to NBC Sports, the Warriors Head Coach said,
“I rebounded for Draymond pregame the other day for his shooting routine — first time I’ve ever done it. I’ve been coaching Draymond for seven years. But I was rebounding for his shooting routine [laughter].
“I’m not kidding — Draymond is shooting the hell out of the ball. Whether it’s in drills … he is playing with a ton of confidence. I think the last couple months were so good for him after what was a tough season last year.”
This news is very exciting to hear as a Warriors fan. Draymond Green is a beast on the court defensively, but the Dubs just get much better overall whenever he gets his offense going. We wouldn’t have to wait for much to see him and his shot, as Team USA heads off to Japan soon.
