"Draymond Green threw the game": Warriors DPOY's temper tantrum hands Charlotte Hornets the momentum as Terry Rozier knocks down the gamewinner, NBA Twitter reacts

People from across the association were shell-shocked at the audacity of Draymond Green in the Warriors’ loss to the Hornets.

Despite not playing with Stephen Curry (out with illness) and their 3 centers, Golden State was doing well. They held a lead for nearly the entire 4th quarter, which ballooned to 8 points at one stage.

However, the Hornets’ long-range shooting brought them back in the game. Terry Rozier had two long-range bombs to get them within range, and Hayward made a crucial corner 3 to keep it there. The Warriors, however, got an offensive board on their final possession of the game – a Wiggins 3-pointer.

Brad Wanamaker got hold of the ball, but LaMelo Ball was there on hand to try and steal it. The referees intervened, and after a while, declared a jumpball between Wanamaker and Ball.

Ball barely managed to slap the jumpball away. But Gordon Hayward got his hands on the ball for a brief second or two. This time was apparently enough for James Borrego to call a timeout from off the floor.

The simultaneous nature of how Hayward got the ball, Borrego called for time and Draymond contested Hayward was a bit baffling in real time. Green was adamant that the ball was live at that point. But the referees didn’t give him the time of the day.

As a 9th year veteran, Green should have realized that this was a lost case. Instead, he went on to keep arguing with the referees. This resulted in one technical foul call against him. He didn’t stop even after that, leading to him being ejected and the Hornets getting a chance to tie it up from the free throw line.

The former Celtics guard seized the opportunity with both hands, making both of his technical free throws. With the game tied, Rozier took the ball in his hands, and forced an off-balance shot from the left wing that miraculously went in.

The Warriors could do nothing but watch, and the internet got a heaven-sent opportunity to troll an NBA superstar yet again.
