‘Private’ Kevin Durant Once Fumbled While Naming Beyonce as the Woman of his Teenage Dreams

Kevin Durant is a player who will show you the best of his abilities on the court. However, when fans have tried inquiring about his private life, KD loves to keep things to himself. Durant is, perhaps, one of the most private celebrities from the NBA. He hardly ever speaks about his activities or love interests off the court. Unless, of course, he is on a show where he has to eat hot wings and talk about celebrity crushes!

In Season 4 Episode 7 of The Hot Ones, aired on August 31, 2017, KD decided to be candid about his crushes and love interests. Speaking to Sean Evans in that episode, Durant was asked by a fan, “Who was your celebrity crush growing up? Who is your current celebrity crush?” 

KD seemed quite embarrassed and shy to answer that question. After much hesitation, he answers that Beyonce was his first celebrity crush growing up as a teenager. While answering the question, Durant seemed shy and seemingly embarrassed. Well, not even KD could escape the charm of the queen of music.

Answering the fan’s question in the episode, Kevin Durant admits that he does have a big list of celebrity crushes. However, out of this ‘apparently’ big list, Beyonce takes the spotlight. A hesitant KD answers the question, saying,

“Beyonce was really a…Beyonce was when I was a teenager. Not now, but now, I don’t even know bro, to be honest.” 

KD was visibly fumbling when answering this question, with Sean Evans urging him to reveal more about his crushes. Surely, the queen of the music industry left the Phoenix Suns star in awe. Her charm and talent as a singer worked wonders on Durant when he was a teenager.

As Evans tries to urge Kevin to reveal his current celebrity crush, KD effectively dodges the question in a rather fumbled manner, with a show of hesitance. He answers,

“Let me look at my phone or something first. I mean yeah, I got so many that I love, but it’s all. I’m just putting on too much under spotlight man. I have too much pressure on me and I’m pissed that I can’t get this.”

As evident as it can get from this interview, KD had effectively dodged a bullet of a question on his private life. The interviewer, Seth Evans, was also persuasive enough to get something out of KD. He was partially successful in making Durant admit about Beyonce. However, he could not get much out of the follow-up question.

Kevin Durant is a strictly no-nonsense person and would hardly ever feature in gossip articles or tabloids over his private life. The 13-time All-Star player speaks about his successes on the court and will hopefully continue the same with his current run in the Phoenix Suns uniform.
