The Milwaukee Bucks were given a taste of their own medicine from Game 2 in tonight’s blowout loss. They were heavy favorites going into the game – especially with Trae Young sitting out due to a bone bruise. DraftKings had the spread at a +9 for the Bucks ahead of tip-off.
All of this changed once the game actually tipped off. The Hawks started off hot and then kept their opponents at bay all game long. They went on several runs of their own to quell the Bucks’ replies. It got to a point where the Bucks just couldn’t run their offense at all.
However, the major talking point from the game will be regarding 2-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Greek Freak suffered a freak on-court injury in the 3rd quarter of the game while coming down after a rebound.
Stephen A Smith catches ridicule for saying Giannis may have injured his ACL
One of the golden rules of good journalism is to never play the expert when the occasion doesn’t demand it. However, Stephen A Smith has become a caricature of sorts at this point. The normal rules don’t seem to apply to ESPN’s foremost bloviator.
He tweeted out immediately after the event in panic, but he also committed the cardinal sin of playing the doctor. Stephen A claimed that Giannis’ injury looked like an ACL injury in real time.
Stephen A caught tons of flak for his tweet.
It’s pretty clear at this point that Stephen A will say or write anything for clicks. And its pretty clear that people are going to keep falling for his bait. But its also people’s responsibility to shoot down his ignorant takes when they’re so wrong.
