“How is that his girlfriend if 3 other dudes kissing her?”: Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless debate if LeBron James is still the best player over Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kevin Durant
Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe debate who’s the greatest player in the world amongst LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Giannis Antetokounmpo
Giannis Antetokounmpo did it. The 2x NBA MVP added two more laurels to his name, as his Bucks completed a comeback to win the NBA Finals. Down 0-2, things looked bleak for Milwaukee, but the Bucks never gave up, and that paid off. They won four games in a trot, and are now the world champions.
Giannis Antetokounmpo was an absolute mammoth in the Finals, averaging 35.2 points, 13.2 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.8 blocks, and 1.2 steals. He sealed off the series in Game 6 with a 50 point performance. With that, he became only the 7th player in the Finals history to score 50 in a game. Due to his performance in the Finals, there has been a whole new series of debates.
Is Giannis Antetokounmpo at the same level/higher than Kevin Durant and LeBron James?
Giannis Antetokounmpo was a 2x NBA MVP at the start of the season. He was never given his due credits till now due to his irregular performances in the playoffs. However, during these playoffs, Giannis fixed that. Whether Milwaukee won or lost, the Greek Freak was a consistent performer.
This sparked a new debate altogether. On the latest episode of Undefeated, Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless debated whether Giannis has done enough to dethrone LeBron James and Kevin Durant as the best player in the league. Skip argued KD is the best player because he went to Cleveland and beat LBJ there and took Finals MVP. Shannon pointed out that Giannis went to Brooklyn and beat KD, and then won Finals MVP. Therefore, by Skip’s own logic, Giannis is the best player in the world.

There was no solid conclusion to the debate, and there are no solid criteria to do so. All three players are dominant forces on the court, and would have to hold the mantle among themselves. To each, there would be a different meaning for the best player title, hence there would never be a solid conclusion.
