"I be Wanting to go to The Met Gala": James Harden Claps Back at ESPN on Twitter Following Career-High 45 Point Game vs Boston

James Harden threw in a Twitter post following a career game against the Celtics yesterday. The NBA’s assists leader lamented not being able to make it to the Met Gala – but only because he’s always got postseason business during this time of the year.

The Beard has been noted for his adventurous fashion choices in the past. He’s always experimenting with the clothing statement he wishes to make. He’s also got the confidence to pull some daring outfits off in real style.

He’s even earned the approval of Charles Barkley for his dressing sense in the past! Harden definitely has a knack for looking cool no matter what he wears – he’s just got that air.

He expressed himself with his latest tweet, saying:

“I be wanting to go to the met gala, but I’m always in the playoffs this time of year”

The statement appeared to be a sideways shot aimed at the media. The 2018 NBA MVP’s definitely got a case here, judging from this rather classless clip from yesterday.

ESPN host Nick Fridell leaves himself with an egg on his face with his Harden slander

For a man who’s likely never played any high-level sport, Nick Fridell definitely had a cavalier attitude when asked about James Harden’s ability to carry the Sixers’ load in the absence of Embiid. The man was laughing at the possibility – not even scoffing:

“What have you seen in the last few years that leads you to believe James Harden is going to turn back the clock?”

Max Kellerman made sure he pointed out that Harden did put together one of the greatest scoring runs of all time. But his attempts at a reasoned discussion were met with dismissive behavior by his hosts.

He got to gloat after being on the right side of history, for once.

How good was James Harden in Game 1?

James Harden reestablished himself as one of the greatest guards of all time with his 45-point game yesterday. The Beard put the no. 2 defense in the league to sword in the absence of his MVP center Joel Embiid in an improbable road victory.

The Sixers were given 19-to-4 odds by sportsbooks ahead of Game 1 at TD Garden. After all, the Celtics seemed to have the measure of them in the regular season, with a 3-2 record. But the Sixers kept things close all game long.

And when the 4th quarter rolled around, Harden obliged by making the game-winning 3-pointer with 8.4 seconds remaining.

Storybook ending if you could’ve written one!
