“I got a glass of wine waiting for me at home”: Carmelo Anthony reveals how he will be celebrating the Blazers’ win over the Philadelphia 76ers after his 4th quarter takeover
Carmelo Anthony says that he’ll be celebrating the Blazers win tonight with a glass of wine, after dropping a season-high 24 points.
Going into tonight’s game, the Portland Trail Blazers had a flurry of difficult games on their schedule. With CJ McCollum and Jusuf Nurkic out for the foreseeable future, the Blazers were expected to delve into mediocrity.
However, they stepped up to the plate and after their win against the Philadelphia 76ers last night, they are now 6-5 without their two stars. The Blazers have now beat the best team in the East twice in a week’s time. They are also the first team this season to beat the 76ers after the Sixers led going into the fourth quarter. They are now 13-1 in those games.
The Blazers’ rally from behind can be attributed to Carmelo Anthony turning back the clock and dropping 17 points in the 4th quarter alone. He finished with 24 points on the night, which is a season-high for the 18-year vet.

Anthony took over in the first 6 minutes of the 4th quarter. He had multiple heat check moments from beyond the arc and was pulling up in defenders’ faces all night long, reaching deep into his bag to hit shots from all over the court.

The Blazers trailed by 4 going into the 4th and thanks to Melo’s heroics, led by 7 in just seven minutes time. He also hit the two free throws with 3.1 seconds on the clock to give the Blazers the lead for good.
When asked about his stellar performance, Carmelo Antony said that he’ll be celebrating with a glass of wine. Seems as though Melo won’t be needing any time to recuperate after tonight as he said he’s feeling great when Chuck insinuated that at his age, it would take him a week to recover.
