“I know exactly who Alex Rodriguez is”: Anthony Edwards’ hilarious clarification after a month of saying that he does not know who the new Timberwolves owner is
The Minnesota Timberwolves rookie Anthony Edwards has been a standout performer for his side in his rookie season.
It has not been a great season for the Minnesota Timberwolves. They currently languish in the 13th spot in the Western Conference. The Timberwolves are way off from playoffs contention as their 22-49 does not even give them any sniff even at the newly introduced play-ins.
Amidst all the disappointment, rookie Anthony Edwards has been a shining light for Chris Finch’s men. The youngster has been nothing short of brilliant in his rookie campaign as he often carried the offense on his shoulders. Anthony Edwards has broken several records this season and is set to be crowned as the Rookie of the Year.
Edwards’ season took off mainly after the All-Star break as he started dropping high scoring games. The 19-year-old shooting guard is averaging 19 points along with 4.7 boards and 2.9 assists per game. He has often looked like the go-to man for the Timberwolves on the floor.
“I don’t know who he is,” the Ant Man said when he was asked about MLB legend Alex Rodriguez
However, a month ago the rookie gave a brutally honest interview where he claimed to not know MLB legend, Alex Rodriguez. A-Rod in all possibility is going to be the new owner of the Minnesota franchise.
During that post-match interview, the ‘Ant Man’ was asked a question by a reporter about his thoughts on ‘A Rod’ or whether he is a fan or something. To which the rookie honestly said, ” A fan…. who is he? I don’t know. I know he is a big owner but I don’t know anything about baseball.”
A lot has changed in a month as Alex Rodriguez and his business partner Marc Lore has an agreement to buy the Timberwolves from Glen Taylor for $1.5 billion, according to reports. However, none of the parties have announced the deal yet.
In a recent interview, a reporter again asked Anthony Edwards if he had the time to research about the former Yankees legend. The rookie again came up with a hilarious reply.
He said “I know exactly who he is. That was a long time ago. I think I did see something on the internet about, like, he, I forgot what he did. But he’s like the owner now officially, right? No?”
