“I’d Take Damian Lillard Over James Harden!”: Stephen A Smith Controversially Picks Dame Over The Beard Alongside Joel Embiid
Damian Lillard is one of the top players in the NBA. The superstar point guard is an exceptional talent known for his clutch plays and sharpshooting abilities. Drafted in 2012, Lillard has played for the Portland Trailblazers his entire career.
Having spent 11 seasons with the franchise, Dame has fallen in love with the Blazers and the city of Portland as a whole. In fact, we are just a year removed from the time when he voiced his wish to be a Blazer for life. However, this is the NBA and things change quickly.
As things stand, the Trailblazers look like they are ready to blow things up. They do not have a legitimate second superstar and have even acquired a number of young players. Moves that have suggested to Lillard that perhaps it is time to move on. But to where? Well, Stephen A. Smith believes that Philadelphia should consider replacing James Harden with Dame D.O.L.L.A.
Stephen A. Smith claims he would take Damian Lillard over James Harden in a heartbeat
The NBA Playoffs are upon us, and everyone is wondering, who will win it all? Well, everyone who is in the Playoffs that is. For those teams that didn’t make the tournament, the off-season cannot come sooner.
One player who has a big decision to make at that time is Damian Lillard. The Trailblazers superstar has voiced his concerns about Portland’s current situation and admitted he has to ponder upon his future. Lucky for him, there are several NBA analysts who can do it for him.
On the most recent episode of First Take, Stephen A. Smith and the rest of the crew discussed possible landing spots for Dame. And, while many big names were thrown around, Stephen A. focused on one team. The Philadephia 76ers. A team he believes should strongly consider bringing in Lillard, going so far as to say he would take him over James Harden.
“James Harden is playing outstanding. James Harden is a future Hall of Famer. I’ve got a lot of love and respect for James Harden. I would take Damian Lillard over James Harden in a heartbeat. I wouldn’t think twice! If I was Philly…and I could get my hands on Damian Lillard and I had to forfeit James Harden…so be it! No shade on James Harden…but that’s what I think of Damian Lillard.”
A bold statement from Stephen A., but one that isn’t too far-fetched. Nevertheless, while Philly would love to throw in their hat, they aren’t the only team taking a good look at the seven-time All-Star.
There are plenty of teams looking to bring in a player of Dame’s caliber
Damian Lillard is without a shadow of a doubt a hot commodity in the NBA right now. With his admittance over having to think about his future, several NBA teams will be interested in adding him to their rosters. Over the past few weeks, a couple of names have been mentioned. In particular, the New York Knicks and the Miami Heat.

Regardless of where he ends up, Dame will certainly impress. Hopefully, he lands up in a team that can give him what he wants. A competitive fight for an NBA Championship.
