Is Ja Morant Playing Tonight Vs Lakers? Availability Report On Grizzlies Guard Ahead of Matchup Against LeBron James’ Lakers

Ja Morant found himself in quite a bit of hot water this 2022-23 NBA season due to the litany of controversies his name was brought up in. the nail in the coffin for him missing out a slew of games was when he brandished a firearm on Instagram live while at a strip club in Denver after a game against the Nuggets.

A police investigation ensued on whether or not Morant had brought the firearm on board the team plane to Denver. If he was guilty of doing so, he would be suspended for close to a season. However, the investigation didn’t provide any conclusive evidence on this being the case and he ended up playing 61 games this season.

With the Los Angeles Lakers having won their play-in game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, leading to them snagging the 7th seed, they’ve set themselves up for a first round matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Will Ja Morant will in Game 1 against the Lakers?

Ja Morant returned from his suspension and played on a regular basis for the Memphis Grizzlies. He did unfortunately sustain an injury during the Grizzlies’ game against the Milwaukee Bucks where he collided with Jae Crowder, leading to a right wrist injury.

He went to the locker room early on in that game and returned with a wrap around his right arm. His X-rays came back negative and coach Taylor Jenkins said that icing it would be enough to have him good to go.

Morant isn’t on the injury list for the Memphis Grizzlies and so barring any unforeseen setback, he should be good to go in Game 1 against the Los Angeles Lakers. The Grizz are shorthanded in the frontcourt as they’re missing both Brandon Clarke and Steven Adams, with the latter likely to miss the entire postseason.
