Is Joel Embiid Playing Tonight vs Pistons? 76ers Release 2022 Scoring Champ’s Availability Update
The Philadelphia 76ers are having a fairly good season. Joel Embiid, who is undeniably the face of the franchise, is enjoying another season of success. The scoring title champion in 2022, Embiid has gotten even more impressive this season on the offense.
He is a versatile scorer capable of converting shots from multiple spots. He is quite capable of dominating the paint but also has mid-range jumpers. Moreover, Embiid’s movement defies logic. He pulls off moves that should quite frankly be impossible for a man of his size and structure.
The Sixers rely heavily on their star center. But even without him, they are a fairly good team with decent roster depth. The upcoming contest will test their mettle as Embid is expected to sit out yet another game.
Joel Embiid is listed as out
The Philadelphia 76ers have listed Joel Embiid as out in their latest injury report. This will be the third consecutive game Embiid has missed due to foot soreness. The Sixers have lost and won 1 game each since his absence.

The upcoming game will be crucial considering that he is the primary scorer for Philadelphia. Without Joel Embiid, they will meet Detroit without their offensive pillar.
Fortunately, they will still have James Harden on the court. In Joel’s absence, Harden can easily control the offense. He is adept at playmaking and is a sensational shooter. Harden will be the key to winning Sunday’s game.
Philadelphia is essentially a defensive team. They have one of the best defensive ratings in the league and are ranked fourth. If James Harden and Co. can continue defending as usual and take advantage of the chinks in Pistons’ armor, they will definitely win the upcoming game.
Breaking down Embiid’s 2022-23 stats
Of the team’s 38 total games this season, Embiid has played only 28. He has faced a few problems but nothing serious.
The ten missed games aside, the 7ft star has been an offensive beast. He is averaging 33.5 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game. Joel Embiid is also as impressive on the defense and has managed an average of 1.7 blocks per game, effectively becoming the team’s best shot blocker.
