“Alex Rodriguez is like Michael Jordan for baseball?”: Anthony Edwards hilariously trolls his new Timberwolves owner regarding Jennifer Lopez and his past relationship with her

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez recently ended their long-term relationship, and Anthony Edwards seems to think that was a bad idea.

The romantic alliance between A-Rod and J-Lo was one of the biggest ‘power couples’ in American pop culture. A-Rod is a modern-day legend of baseball, while Jennifer Lopez melted billions of hearts worldwide at her musical peak.

The two got together in 2017 and dated each other up until very recently. Given that both are now ‘past their primes’, it would make sense that not many of them knew about their relationship – though this knowledge did belong in the public domain for a while.

Alex Rodriguez has been in the news recently after his decision to become a part-owner of the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Yankees legend is a minority shareholder, but he will be appearing in public with the team to boost their visibility.

Anthony Edwards was clowned all over social media when he revealed that he didn’t know A-Rod. The Rookie of the Year favorite recently opened up about his thoughts on his new team owner and their relationship.

One of the things that endear ‘Ant-Man’ to every fan is that he’s the everyman of our times. The 19-year-old has no filter, and this makes him easily the most interesting rookie to interview in recent memory.

He sat down with GQ magazine recently to let us know his thoughts on the NBA. Edwards also talked at length about Alex Rodriguez and how he’d love to see him back together with J-Lo.

GQ: So…you really don’t know who A-Rod is, huh? (Among other questions)

Anthony Edwards (abridged): Well…I do now! Everybody was texting me, tellin’ me ‘bout it, that’s it, for real. They told me he’s a Hall of Famer. Somebody told me he’s like the Michael Jordan of baseball.

I ain’t watch none, nah. I know he dates J-Lo [Jennifer Lopez], though!

GQ: He used to date Jennifer Lopez, they broke up.

Anthony Edwards: Damn! I’m disappointed. He’s my owner, I want him to be happy. I think he’ll be happier with J-Lo
