Houston Rockets guard James Harden and controversy go hand in hand. Now, his old tweet has resurfaced on Twitter and fans are having a gala time over it. Fans have criticized him for speaking badly about patients with mental illness.
The multi-time All star has evolved with time. The former MVP keeps posting about his charity organisation and shares motivational messages on his social platforms. However, he did tweet out ‘I dislike retarded people’ and that hasn’t gone down well with a lot of fans
James Harden’s ‘I dislike retarded people’ tweet
Harden tweeted this as a 21-year old back in 2010. The ‘Beard’ was always embroiled in controversy earlier in his career. Harden was involved in a twitter altercation who called Harden ignorant and retarded. The root cause seems unknown though. Several fans have bashed him for being insensitive against patients having mental illness.
The Rockets’ star hasn’t deleted the tweet leading to notion that he stands by what he tweeted.
Check out their altercation below:

What’s next for Harden?
Harden and his Rockets have been playing some decent basketball before the shutdown. The multi-time All star knows that a title win will remove the asterisks around his NBA career. The Rockets’ superstar is one of the best scorers in the entire league. The ‘Beard’ is also in the hunt for the MVP award behind Giannis and Lebron.
The Rockets have played well with Harden and Westbrook leading the way. Russell Westbrook left the Thunders to join the Rockets this season and the two guards have combined well this season.
