“Just Getting to Game 7 Don’t Make History!”: Charles Barkley Doles Out Advice To Jaylen Brown as Celtics Clinch Game 6 vs Heat

The Miami Heat had a foot into the NBA Finals on Saturday night, but Derrick White pulled them right back with almost no time remaining in the game. The Celtics won Game 6 on the last possession of the game after their 2-guard went for an amazing putback lay-up off of Marcus Smart’s attempt with a fraction of second remaining. Jaylen Brown and every other player on the court were in shock at what they had just witnessed. The All-Star guard got an opportunity to speak about the same with Inside the NBA crew after the game. However, Charles Barkley made the most of that opportunity to advise Brown for Game 7 while he was there.

Brown was having an average post-season following an outstanding regular season and a tremendous 2022 Playoffs prior to it. However, he has been amazingly efficient in the last 3 wins in comparison to his performances in Games 1, 2, and 3 of the ECF.

Jaylen looked delighted after the Game 6 victory as the Cs got one step closer to making probably the biggest comeback in sports history, but Chuck reminded him that getting to Game 7 does not make history.

“Just getting to Game 7 don’t make history!”: Charles Barkley gives advice to Jaylen Brown

Jaylen Brown took the seat on the courtside sets of NBA on TNT in Miami after his complete performance of 26 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals, and a team-high plus/minus of ‘+7’.

But the discussion was more about White’s game-winning shot that gave the Cs a 104-103 win, instead of a late knockout blow by the Heat. For that, Brown simply said, “It’s not over, till it’s over”. Check out the tweet below by NBA on TNT.

The Celtics now have a chance to be the 1st team to come back from a 3-0 deficit and win a Playoffs series, which stands at 0-150 as of now. And for it to be 1-150, Chuck had something to say to Jaylen. Watch it in another clip by NBA on TNT’s  Twitter account.

“Just getting to Game 7 don’t make history.”

It makes sense for the Chuckster to still be a bit bearish, despite the Celtics’ incredible performances. After all, he was initially rooting for the Celtics to come out from the East. And then when he saw them go down 0-3, it was his hopes that were dashed mercilessly.

Barkley was ready for a vacation after Game 3

Before even Jimmy Butler himself counted the Boston team out, Sir Charles was ready for a vacation and to see his grandchild when the Heat had won Game 3 in Boston to take an insurmountable lead in the series.

Thanks to his “guarantee”, the Celtics have now won 3 straight games to make an unbelievable comeback in the series. They have the momentum, they will have the home-court advantage, and they will have a hostile Boston crowd making life even more difficult for Jimmy in Game 7.

Let’s see if they do make it happen, or do we have another Butler masterclass in store against all the odds?
