Klay Thompson Lists Three Keys for Warriors To Win Back-to-Back NBA Championships After Win Over Kings

The Golden State Warriors are one of the more successful franchises in recent history. They’ve won four titles in eight years, and a huge reason behind the same has been the trio of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green. These three have been on the Warriors for eleven years now, and during that time, have built something they like to call ‘Championship DNA’.

Tonight the Championship DNA was on display as the Warriors faced the Kings in a must-win game. Having won only 9 road games so far this season, it was an uphill task, but the defending champions did not back down. They secured a 119-97 win over the #3-seeded Kings.

Klay Thompson led the Warriors with 29 points and two blocks. Stephen Curry had 25 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and two steals. They climbed up to the 5th seed, and are now just a win away from making it back to the playoffs. After the win, Klay spoke to the press and talked about winning back-to-back championships.

Klay Thompson lists the three keys to repeating the Warriors’ success

The Golden State Warriors are winners. I don’t say this just because they’re the defending champions, but because they have players who not only have the will to win, but also know what it takes to win. The Golden Trio knows it better than anyone else.

After the game tonight, Klay spoke with the press and talked about repeating their success.

Basically, he meant limiting turnovers, taking smarter shots, and not end up making silly mistakes on the defensive end. In the end, if the Warriors end up doing this, Klay Thompson is right. If the Dubs clean up these three mistakes, it’ll be hard for any team in the NBA to take them on in a seven-game series.

After the season the Dubs have had, repeating their success seems like a lofty goal, but then again, so was winning the championship last year. If the Dubs believe in themselves and limit their mistakes, they do have the potential to go all the way again.

How does the seeding look like?

The Playoff Chances for the Warriors still hang in the balance. As long as they win the final game against the Trailblazers, the Warriors are sure to get at least the 6th seed. However, if they end up losing the contest, things will get trickier.

If the Warriors lose, they risk falling as low as the 8th seed. However, that will depend on how the Clippers, Lakers, and Pelicans fare in their final game or two.

Basically, we just have to wait till Sunday to know for sure whether the Warriors are facing the Suns, the Kings, or whether they’re fighting their way in the play-in tournament again.
