In the time he played before his wrist injury, LaMelo Ball was having an incredible rookie season. He became the youngest player in NBA history to record a triple-double and was even averaging over 20 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists as a starter.
His contribution to the Charlotte Hornets was palpable as well. After he was handed a starting role, the franchise’s offense jumped up to 11th in the league. But as fans know, the player then suffered a fracture in his right wrist in a game against the LA Clippers.
At the time, it was believed that the Ball brother was guaranteed to be out for the season. But there has since been very good news for fans of the player and his franchise.

Adrian Wojnarowski reveals that LaMelo Ball is about a week away from his return
Given the journey LaMelo Ball has taken to the NBA and the pandemic, it makes sense that the 19-year-old is desperate to play. But when he suffered his injury, no one in the NBA community expected how little time it would take him to heal up.
After suffering his injury on 21st March, the player was cleared for basketball activity just a few days ago. At the time, the player wasn’t expected to feature anymore during the regular season. However, Adrian Wojnarowski dropped his classic ‘Woj Bomb’ on the world very recently.
“Charlotte is probably about a week away from getting LaMelo Ball back in the lineup”
He continued, talking about the impact Ball could have on the Hornets’ playoff push.
“Ball wants to play, he pushed to come back. And not only do they perhaps get Ball back as soon as next weekend, but Malik Monk is (also) on a similar timetable.”

Jalen Rose went to add to Woj’s point, predicting the Hornets would make the playoffs as the 8th seed.
With the trio of Ball, Monk, and Gordon Hayward returning, it would be tough to bet against this franchise. But only time will tell if they have what it takes to make the playoffs.
