LeBron James’ I Promise School, Which costs $8 Million in Taxpayer Money Each Year, is Better Than 99% of Schools
Seems as though whatever LeBron James puts his hand on has a seemingly high chance of success. Just take the I Promise School for example. Growing up in impoverished neighborhoods of Akron, Ohio; James wanted to start a school knowing the plight of others like him.
In 2018, he inaugurated the foundations for the I Promise School, which took four years to completely open and finally began its full slew of operations in 2022. It started with schooling for up to grades 3 and 4. In 2022, it was complete till schooling for 8th grade.
James’ school cost $8 million in taxpayer money, which was not received well by the media or fans. But it seems, the taxpayer money has been put to good use.

And while the general idea behind test scores isn’t the most revealing aspect of school, the premise behind increased test scores may have to do with the fact that I Promise does things differently.

The simple yet effective things they do at I Promise are why the school performs better than 99% of others. Children aren’t afraid of the world. The promise is that they will be taken care of even in higher education.
This ensures that children can learn freely and encourages them to seek out their dreams without any qualms.
LeBron deserves a salutation for this. A gesture that is shaping his community. And perhaps in the future, it will shape the world.
