LeBron James vs Donald Trump saw a new chapter unfold today. The 45th president of USA condemned the Lakers star for his deleted tweet.

There’s been a lot to unpack with regards to LeBron’s comments on the shooting of Ma’Khia Bryant. The 16-year-old was gunned down by a police officer a fraction of a second before she was about to stab another black woman.
The Columbus shooting has divided the country squarely along racial lines once again. Several BLM activists questioned the merit of a police officer shooting a 16-year-old. LeBron James joined in with those voices, but his call-to-action was very crude.
James posted a picture of Nicholas Reardon, the concerned officer, on Twitter with the caption ‘You’re Next’. This ticked off several nonpartisan Americans, who viewed the situation as a no-win for the police officers. The corresponding backlash prompted James to have to delete the post, but he followed it up with calls for accountability.
A pair of CNN law enforcement analysts have defended the officer’s use of force as reasonable. Do keep in mind that CNN is viewed as ‘liberal media’ by most Americans, so it seems that those condemning the officer are probably in the minority.
Donald Trump blasts LeBron James for ‘racist and divisive rants’
We’ve heard little from Donald Trump in public since he finished his tenure as President. However, the 74-year-old has found his opportunity to insert himself into mainstream media with a statement aimed at the Lakers star:
“LeBron James should focus on basketball rather than presiding over the destruction of the NBA, which has just recorded the lowest television RATINGS, by far, in the long and distinguished history of the League.”
“His RACIST rants are divisive, nasty, insulting, and demeaning. He may be a great basketball player, but he is doing nothing to bring our Country together!”
It might just be a case of broken clockspotting, but Trump is in the right here. The average American isn’t too enamoured with the Lakers star at the moment.
