Justin Bieber and LeBron James are two individuals who on the outside, share no more than an ascension to fame at a very young age. But in reality, the duo seems to associate with each other in more ways than one.

Both stars have remarked on their mutual respect for each other. The Canadian pop sensation even has autographed sneakers signed by LeBron James as an impressive souvenir in his collection. With Bieber’s basketball association even taking him to the Celebrity All-Star Game, it comes as no surprise that he too is a fan of King James’ game.
The duo being well-wishers of each other is only natural. But it seems that LeBron James even influenced a decision that might have saved Justin Bieber a lot of flak from the public. In 2016, King James advised Justin Bieber against involving in the Republican National Convention.
Justin Bieber passed on $5 million from the gig at the Republican National Convention after LeBron James’ advice.
King James is a billionaire athlete and one of the rare celebrities with an impeccable public reputation. Using his acumen in this regard, James, in 2016 advised Bieber to go against a choice that involved a “money vs reputation” card.
Partaking in a political event of that magnitude would have certainly been considered an announcement of Bieber’s political sentiments. And considering how the narrative around Bieber was at the time, that certainly would have been controversial.
In 2014, there was even a campaign to deport the Canadian from the United States of America. “Americans of all stripes dislike the Canadian pop singer” read a popular publication from 2014. Such was the extent of hate that was afforded to Bieber in America.
A Republican association would only have translated to further conspiracies and hate at Bieber’s direction. James’ advice certainly cost Bieber a $5 million paycheck. But, it probably saved his goodwill, which in all likelihood, recouped more than what he had to pass on. As TMZ reported in 2016:
“Justin Bieber got a $5 million offer to perform at a Republican event during the GOP Convention, but turned it down after his manager considered quitting and LeBron James urged him to reject it … sources tell TMZ.”
With such unsolicited advice coming to Bieber’s great benefit, the question needs to be asked.
Is LeBron a “Belieber”?
While there has been no direct implication of the same, a source close to LeBron has indicated that James is a Bieber fan. The source being none other than James’ friend and former teammate Chris Bosh certainly adds credibility to the story.
The former Heat All-Star was quizzed about his experience with King James as a teammate. Bosh joked about how he could never sleep with James sharing the space owing to his “Bieber Fever”.
Whether this is to be taken with a pinch of salt is the reader’s discretion. But the possibility certainly cannot be ruled out.
