“LeBron James won’t win MVP, Lakers won’t make the NBA Finals”: Skip Bayless doubles down on his Nets vs Clippers predictions for 2021 NBA Finals

"Skip Bayless called Troy Aikman gay": The infamous analyst is considered to be one of the most hated figures in sports because of his mean takes

Skip Bayless is the biggest LeBron James hater in the world, and he underlined this yet again with his predictions for the NBA Finals.

The Lakers are currently 3rd in the Western Conference with a 24-13 record at the halfway point. They are scheduled to get Anthony Davis back at some point this month. This will bolster their team significantly in their hunt for the top seed.

Their crosstown rivals aren’t their only challengers in the West this time around. Utah seems set to have a record of .700 or better – something the Lakers will find very tough to emulate. Phoenix looks really dangerous, with a well-rounded lineup and a veteran Chris Paul leading the way.

LeBron, meanwhile, topped the league’s MVP leaderboard for each of its first 5 editions before Joel Embiid upstaged him. There is still a realistic chance that he’ll win the 5th MVP trophy of his career.

Skip Bayless on LeBron James and the Lakers’ chances this year

On one hand, Skip held off on criticizing the Clippers for their 4th quarter meltdowns in the last 3 games. He maintained that they’ve got a new coach, a new brain and a new mentality this time around, despite them displaying the same problems as before.

On the other hand, Skip applied a very obvious double standard in criticizing LeBron James for ‘not delivering’ in AD’s absence. He thinks that James does not belong in the top 5 of the MVP conversation this year. This is exactly what he tweeted with a video of a small segment from today’s Undisputed:

“The Lakers are not going to get out of the West and LeBron James is not going to win MVP.”

I’m going to go out on a limb and say that Bayless does not himself believe what he said.
