Marc Gasol to Warriors? Lakers and 3 other teams that could recruit the sought-after NBA free agent
Marc Gasol has now become the biggest name free agent in the class of 2021 after the first two days of free agency.
Montrezl Harrell made a shock signing with the Los Angeles Lakers for the mid-level exception – a sum worth much less than his market value. This was followed by Fred Van Vleet signing with the Raptors for 4 years. Yesterday, Serge Ibaka caused a stir by taking a big paycut to join the Clippers.

Which teams will now be pursuing a big-name center like Marc Gasol?
#1 Toronto Raptors
Following their inability to retain Serge Ibaka despite offering him a good contract, they will now focus mainly on their other big man. Marc Gasol has been excellent for the team and was a crucial part of the 2019 title-winning squad.

#2 Los Angeles Lakers
Although they have JaVale McGee and Montrezl Harrell in the center role already, adding Gasol to the mix would make them well-nigh unbeatable. Gasol is the perfect big man to play alongside Anthony Davis. He can shoot from range, grab the tough rebounds and is an excellent defender even in his mid-30s.
#3 Golden State Warriors
The Warriors are looking to surround Steph Curry with the requisite talent for a playoff run even if it means exhorbitant amounts of luxury tax. Gasol would fit seamlessly onto their roster and provide them with an excellent mentor for no. 2 pick James Wiseman.
#4 Brooklyn Nets
While this would be out of the left field and the Nets already have 2 roll men as bigs, Gasol would make their big man rotation really well-rounded. He would provide the much-needed championship-caliber defense to a team that looks like it needs bulking up in that particular area.
