Marcus Quotes 'Animosity' Between Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen to Rationalize Father's Viral Comment on Son Dating Larsa Pippen

Marcus Jordan, the son of Michael Jordan is currently in a high-profile relationship. A relationship that happens to be with Larsa Pippen, the ex-wife of His Airness’ former teammate, Scottie Pippen. There has been much animosity between Jordan and Scottie for quite some time now, ever since the Last Dance documentary was released. Rumors about it were only fuelled further by his son’s newfound love interest. And, recently it made headlines when he openly admitted to disapproving their relationship in what was a viral video taken by TMZ. But, Marcus has clarified this on the Separation Anxiety podcast, stating that the root of MJ’s response was his own dicey relationship with his former teammate.

Marcus and Larsa’s relationship has been under heavy criticism. The age difference and the fact that she is Scottie Pippen’s ex-wife aside, a lot of the controversy stems from Jordan and his connection with Pippen. The latter has been going at MJ for quite some time now. And, his son’s relationship hasn’t really helped change that.

Michael Jordan supposedly only “disapproved” of Marcus’ relationship with Larsa Pippen due to his controversy with Scottie Pippen

Recently, Marcus Jordan and Larsa Pippen had a tense discussion on their podcast. Things have been wild for a while now, ever since Michael Jordan’s viral video. A video where he voiced his “disapproval” of Marcus and Larsa’s relationship. A response that was later clarified in a personal phone call between Marcus and his father.

Understandably, Larsa was left embarrassed by the whole situation. And, while Marcus found the response funny and played it down, she was the one being called a liar on national television. However, MJ’s comments may not have had anything to do with their relationship.

His Airness is currently in the midst of a spat with Scottie Pippen. His former teammate has been livid with him ever since the Last Dance documentary was released. It led to Scottie publically expressing his distaste for Michael, sparking debates and rumors about their dying friendship. And, it is this that Marcus believes was the root of his father’s comments. Comments he believes were made so as to not add more fuel to the fire.

“At the root of it all obviously is my dad’s relationship with your ex, Scottie. Obviously, we never talk about and I don’t think my dad wanted to comment on that. There’s always that narrative and rumor that I’m dating you in some sort of way to get back at whatever says. So, if my dad comes out and says, ‘Yes,’ he’s fuelling that narrative of… whatever. But, I think he said, ‘No,’  just as a joking way knowing how Jordans play around.”

It certainly is an interesting theory from Marcus Jordan and one that wouldn’t be unfounded. After all, his father’s relationship with Scottie Pippen doesn’t look like it will improve anytime soon.

MJ’s relationship with Scottie Pippen has deteriorated significantly over the years

The Last Dance documentary did wonders for Michael Jordan, the Chicago Bulls, and the sport of basketball. It put them all on a platform and showcased them to the world. However, not everyone enjoyed it. MJ’s former teammate, Scottie Pippen has been quite vocal about his displeasure and has taken shots at His Airness numerous times because of it.

It has reached a stage, where their relationship seems irreparable, as it has deteriorated to such a state. And, with his son dating Scottie’s ex, things have only gone from bad to worse.

The way things stand, it looks as though Michael and Scottie may never see eye-to-eye ever again. Just goes to show that while some bonds may seem unbreakable on the surface, doesn’t mean it is so behind the scenes.
