Nigeria stunned the United States of America when they beat them 90-87 in an exhibition match. This was one of the biggest upsets for Team USA despite it being an exhibition match.
The USA basketball team holds an efficient 54-2 record in exhibition games. They have beat Nigeria by as much as 83-points in their last few meetings at the Olympics.
Nigeria outplayed Team USA, especially in 3-point shooting and defense. Nigeria was 21-for-42 from the 3-point line, While Team USA was 10-for-24. Nigeria had an impressive 21 assists during the game.

The crew of Undisputed pokes fun at Team USA Basketball owing to their loss to Nigeria
Analyst Shannon Sharpe was recently quoted saying, ” Me, Chris, Skip, Jenny, and the cameraman could beat Nigeria.”

Shannon Sharpe was later seen discussing Team USA’s performance, during which he said he does not take the loss to Nigeria very seriously since it was only an exhibition match.
Sharpe further added that the US team wasn’t very deep, especially when it came to defense. The likes of Kevin Durant, Damian Lillard, and Bradley Beal were more iso players.
An interesting observation here would be that the Nigeria basketball team has 7 current NBA players.
Despite having an All-NBA team, USA basketball lost to Nigeria, which became the first-ever African country to beat Team USA at basketball.
Though Team USA lost their exhibition match against Nigeria, the odds are yet in their favor owing to the plethora of talent they have on their roster.
