"Michael Jordan And I Drank Together": Dwyane Wade’s Wife, Gabrielle Union, Astonished At Bulls Legend Getting Ignored At Pride Parade

Michael Jordan and Dwyane Wade have a couple similarities between the two. They were both married to someone prior to meeting their current partners and their current partners are both in the entertainment industry. Jordan and Yvette Prieto, the woman he married in 2013, met at a club while Prieto was working as a model. Wade and Union met at a Super Bowl party when the former was still married to Siovaughn Funches. Being married to an NBA star has its perks. However, when you are Gabrielle Union and also DWade’s wife, your perks are just a tiny bit better than everybody else. Like taking Michael Jordan to a pride party after day drinking together.

Union is very well known in the film and entertainment industry given her extensive resume when it comes to her filmography. The fact that she’s dating Dwyane Wade also means that another sector of celebrities have opened up to her in terms of mingling with them away from the spotlight as well.

Jordan in particular has been someone who has avoided being in the public’s eye ever since he retired. He rarely shows up for Hornets games despite being the Chairperson for the team and is usually only seen on vacation with his wife.

Gabrielle Union on drinking with Michael Jordan and him not getting recognized

Gabrielle Union went on ‘Hot Ones’ and talked about how she was one day drinking casually with Michael Jordan and Charles Oakley, two former Chicago Bulls players. Wade is a native of Chicago and was even signed to the Jordan Brand until he signed a $10 million deal with Li-Ning over the course of 8 years.

While talking about drinking with Jordan and Oakley, she claimed that she somehow convinced the two NBA legends to accompany her to a pride parade. Though Union did not reveal the exact year of this story, she did claim that it happened a few years before the episode of Hot Ones. In the show, she revealed:

“I was hosting a pride party. I had been day drinking with Michael Jordan and Charles Oakley and was like, ‘You guys should come. I bet you guys are going to be a huge hit, everyone’s going to love you.’”

The biggest takeaway from this would be Union revealing that Jordan was ignored by every single person at the pride parade.

“I’ve never seen Michael Jordan more categorically ignored, ever in life.” Perhaps the crowd at pride parades isn’t exactly the target audience for sports.

Gabrielle Union has been very supportive of the LGBTQ+ community

Both Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade have been incredible supporters for anybody who is questioning their sexuality and is a part of the LGBTQ+ community. They share a daughter in Zaya Wade who made it clear that she feels she was assigned the wrong pronouns at birth.

For some time now, Union and Wade have been showcasing a great deal of understanding for what their daughter has been going through. There have been some legal issues regarding Siovaughn Funches in this matter but for the most part, it has been a lot of outpouring of love towards the Wades for how they’ve handled this transition in their daughter.
