‘Once Klay Thompson returns, the Warriors are going to make the league pay’: Stephen A Smith sends warning to rest of the NBA about Stephen Curry and his sleeper team
Stephen A Smith believes that when Klay Thompson returns to the Warriors, the team is going to make everybody in the league pay.
Last season, Golden State Warriors had their worst season in a while. But with a healthy Stephen Curry back this season, the Warriors now look to earn back their respect after their horrendous finish last year.
Entering Sunday’s game against the defending champions Los Angeles Lakers, the Warriors were on a great three-game winning streak. The Lakers snapped their winning run by handing the Warriors a 117-91 loss.
Of course, the Warriors are missing out on the likes of their All-Star Klay Thompson who has been sidelined with injuries for quite a while now. Stephen A Smith says:
“If Klay Thompson and Steph Curry, on the court together and healthy, Warriors are going to the conference finals, at the very least, Warriors is going to win fifty games, at the very least. We talked about the Utah Jazz being the best shooting team in the NBA. That wouldn’t be the case if Klay and Steph on the court. I promise you that much, that would happen then.”

‘Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson are the greatest backcourt in NBA history’: Stephen A Smith
There is absolutely no doubt about the fact that once all is said and done, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson will go down as the greatest shooting backcourt in NBA history. Stephen A Smith kept emphasizing that he believed how a healthy Warriors team could make the conference finals. He said:
“When I look at the team as presently constructed. If you told me that Klay Thompson comes back but you still have a Kelly Oubre, you still have an Andrew Wiggins and you got a James Wiseman and you got Pascal and Draymond Green and these boys. With Steph and Klay healthy? Oh please. You’re in the conference finals, easily.”
Stephen A Smith continued to speak about the Splash Brothers:
“When Klay and Steph are on the court together, this is the greatest shooting backcourt in NBA history. Steph Curry is the greatest shooter since man was created. That’s who he is. And Klay ain’t that damn far behind.”
We can only anticipate how a healthy Warriors team will perform. Whether or not they will make the conference finals, one thing is sure that we can count on it being entertaining as Klay Thompson gets back on court.
Right now, it’s about the present and the roller-coaster season that they’ve been having. The Warriors are desperately trying to get a playoff spot this season. They’re currently cutting it fine by placing 8th at the Western Conference with a 19-16 record.
