“Pass Up Ja Morant, Zion Williamson!”: Anthony Edwards Gets ‘Major Props’ From LeBron James’ Former Teammate Following 34 Point Performance

Anthony Edwards‘ prolific performance for Team USA has been turning heads everywhere. The young Minnesota Timberwolves star dropped 34 points in an exhibition match against Germany, bringing his team out for a win from a 16-point deficit. Edwards’ performance has impressed several distinguished NBA personalities, with Coach Erik Spoelstra claiming him to be the next Dwyane Wade. Recently, in the ‘Road Trippin” podcast, Richard Jefferson also expressed his praise and satisfaction after seeing the young shooting guard excel for the national team. Jefferson believes that Edwards can even pass his contemporaries Ja Morant and Zion Williamson very soon in terms of performance.

Anthony Edwards made his first All-Star team appearance last season with his stellar performance for the Wolves. Playing in his first playoffs, Edwards put up a stellar fight against the eventual champions, the Denver Nuggets, including a 41-point showing. This explains well why head coach Steve Kerr thinks he is the numero uno choice as a player for the US National Team this summer.

Richard Jefferson predicts Anthony Edwards might pass Ja Morant and Zion Williamson

Every former NBA player, from Gilbert Arenas to LeBron James’ former teammate, Richard Jefferson, is hopeful about Anthony Edwards’ skillset. There has got to be substance to why Coach Spo called Edwards’ skills similar to D-Wade. And in every subsequent game, he is more so proving to be like the Flash.

Appearing in the Road Trippin’ podcast, Jefferson was asked for his thoughts on the recent displays of brilliance by the young Timberwolves star. And in a much-elated manner, the former Cavalier elucidated why Anthony could even surpass his contemporaries Zion Williamson and Ja Morant in the league.

“I think Anthony Edwards definitely has a chance to be super special. Like he really has a chance. I’m gonna be really honest. Talent wise, and this is gonna be crazy, I think he has in this summer, I think he’s in a position to pass up Ja, to pass up Zion. And I know, when Zion’s on the court, Zion’s that dude. That’s the issue. When he’s on the court, he’s that dude. But the question is, can he be on the court consistently?”

The players RJ named, while comparing Edwards, have all shown flashes of greatness in their performance. However, it’s worth noting that Ja Morant and Zion Williamson are currently entangled in controversies, seemingly affecting their legacy in the league. Furthermore, Williamson’s weight and injury issues are also concerns regarding his consistency for his team. If Anthony Edwards can keep himself in the best form throughout, perhaps he can etch his name as the next big emerging star out of the NBA. Recently, fans have pointed out his similarities with the legend himself, which is proof of his skill set.

An ‘eerie’ Michael Jordan video shows similarities between Anthony Edwards and His Airness

The drawing of comparisons and similarities between Anthony Edwards and NBA players might be stretched to unbelievable extents at specific points. While it’s fair to compare Edwards to Dwyane Wade’s skillsets, fans have come up with wild assumptions and theories linking Anthony with Michael Jordan. An eerie video on Reddit has gone viral, portraying Anthony Edwards as the offspring of the Chicago Bulls legend.

Though Edwards and Jordan have several similarities in looks, they are not related in any way. Hence, believing such propositions as mere rumors and conspiracy theories about player relations is safe.
