LA Clippers’ Paul George is aptly recognized as one of the most talented two-way players in the modern NBA. He is an 8-time All-Star and 4-time All-Defensive team member. George has also been on the receiving end of a lot of love recently. First, it was the 2023 NBA draft 2nd pick Brandon Miller, who named George when asked about his NBA GOAT, according to Bleacher Report. George responded to the comment on Podcast P, claiming that it was an honor to be someone that the younger generation looked up to. The 33-year-old claimed that the way he played was simply his way of paying homage to Kobe Bryant.

Paul George is one of the most complete players in the NBA today. Brandon Miller, despite being picked 2nd by the Hornets and Michael Jordan, chose PG13 as his GOAT. A similar response came recently from Kiyan Anthony. Carmelo Anthony’s son will be playing for the Long Island Lutheran high school soon. Still only 16, he ended up naming Paul George as his NBA GOAT during an interview with Hoops Bot.

Paul George gets called the GOAT by Brandon Miller and Kiyan Anthony
Paul George is one of the top players in the modern NBA that the younger generation can look up to. Apart from giving his best on both ends of the court, George is effectively a role model and is always keen to give advice to younger players.

As a kid, George admired Kobe Bryant and sought to emulate the LA Lakers legend. On his podcast, George expressed his desire to influence younger players, just as Kobe influenced him. That is the kind of legacy that he wants to leave behind:
“It’s amazing. It’s humbling. It’s an honor to be someone the younger generation looks up to. It’s all for me just paying homage to Kobe. What Kobe was for me, my influence, and then from there it was just putting my touch on everything I have been able to do. I feel like I have just been relatable, big wings that can handle, create, be the number 1 option, defend, make plays. That’s ultimately what I wanted my legacy to be when I’m retired is, you know, P played his hardest on both ends and was special on both ends.”
George, despite his highly successful career, is still searching for his ultimate title. Simultaneously, his impact on younger players is profoundly humbling. PG13 described it as a humbling experience, stating that he has always aimed to help his teams to the fullest extent possible.
PG13 was mentored by none other than Lakers legend Kobe Bryant
Kobe Bryant, known for supporting younger players, took Paul George under his wing when he was young. Recently, George shared on his podcast that Kobe’s influence on him was immense. During the early stages of his career, Kobe taught him a lot. Remarkably, Kobe continued to assist him during games when they faced each other, throughout the offseason, and even after retiring.
George expressed deep gratitude for Kobe’s guidance, and he now strives to have a similar impact on younger NBA players, a role gaining increasing recognition.
