The Mavericks vs Clippers series has been a hotly contested one, with Luka Doncic leading the way for the Mavs. He has almost single-handedly ensured the Mavericks still being relevant in the series.
And while the basketball in the series has been impeccable, it has also been marred by many controversies; the biggest of which being Montrezl Harrell’s ‘racist slur’ directed towards Doncic. However, despite an apology already made, fans have directed racist remarks towards Harrell.
NSFW racist comments directed at Montrezl Harrell
Montrezl Harrell recently shared that he had been subjected to a lot of hate on social media. He revealed that a few fans were even glad that his grandmother had passed away.
Harrell had left the NBA Bubble a few weeks ago after the passing of his grandmother and it has been insensitive of people to use that to target the Clippers star.
“Me and Luka squash everything everyone was trying say about me being a racist because he an I both know they truth but still I get messages from people telling me they glad my grandmother died and I’m a n-gger.” Harrell said in an emotional post.
If gone get the story get it right all I ask, no one spoke wit me to do anything I approach him and cleared the air from all the outside nonsense that was being said. Nothing but respect for Luka he understood the heat of the battle and he said it didn’t bother him only RESPECT https://t.co/MOKlkT3CAH

It is disheartening to see people target Harrell in such an inhuman way. Hopefully social media trolls realise where to draw the line when it comes to mocking players.
Luka Doncic-Montrezl Harrell ‘white boy’ incident
The duo were seen going at it during Game 3 of the series, with Montrezl Harrell calling Luka a ‘b*h a white boy’ and Luka asking him to ‘stop flopping’ in return.
The slur caught the attention of many and people all over the world called out Harrell for his racist remark. The NBA however, did not take any action against Harrell, who apologised to Doncic in the build up to Game 4.
Doncic and Harrell embraced each other before Game 4 as the Clippers man apologised to the Mavs star.
And while the duo seemed to have buried the hatchet, people are still taking a swipe at Harrell for his comments.
