"Ray Allen's Shot Was More Important Than Kyrie Irving's": Richard Jefferson Controversially Ranks LeBron James' Teammates Legendary Finals 3s

LeBron James is one of the most successful players the NBA has ever seen. Four NBA Championships and four MVPs are not easy to come by. Not only did it require his skill, but it also took a ton of hard work and determination.

Another contributing factor to his success is his teammates. Over the course of his career in the NBA, King James has had some great subordinates. To be precise, he has played with close to 214 players in his 20 seasons in the league.

However, only a few can be considered the cream of the crop. And, two of the best he has ever played with are Kyrie Irving and Ray Allen. Two superstars who hit shots that some may say defined LeBron’s championship success. But, which one was better? Well, Richard Jefferson has the answer.

Richard Jefferson claims Ray Allen’s shot was more important for LeBron James than Kyrie’s

King James is a four-time NBA Champion, a serial winner who has proven to the league that he is one of the best. But, these championship victories did not come easy. LeBron and his teammates had to slog for victory.

When looking back on his victories, two particular plays come to mind. Both of which defined his legacy as a winner. The first being Ray Allen’s last-minute three against the San Antonio Spurs and the second was Kyrie Irving’s shot against the Golden State Warriors.

Both shots were amazing, but as any basketball fanatic would like to know, which one was better? Was it the one that handed the King his second ring? Or the one that helped him bring silverware to Cleveland? A tough question, but Richard Jefferson gave his answer on the Old Man and the Three, and he is going with Jesus Shuttlesworth.

“I think the Kyrie shot is the second biggest shot ever hit. I think the Ray Allen shot is better because the series is gonna be over if he doesn’t make this shot. The series is over. Time is running out, they had ropes around, they had champagne in the Spurs locker room and then they win Game 7. So that shot from a standpoint of the series is over. Kyrie misses the shot, the score is still tied, whatever. But, I think as far as the biggest shot ever hit, Kyrie has the biggest shot. But I think the most important, or the craziest, is the Ray Allen shot!”

It certainly is a great argument from RJ. But, at the end of the day, there can be no denying that both shots changed the course of NBA history forever.

LeBron James will be pushing for a reunion with Kyrie Irving in Los Angeles

Richard Jefferson may have chosen Ray Allen over Kyrie, but LeBron is desperate to have Uncle Drew in LA. The King was eager to see his former running mate join him on the Lakers before the trade deadline. Unfortunately, he went to Dallas instead. But, with his contract running out, LeBron will be hoping he can entice his former teammate into a reunion in California.

It will be interesting to see just what happens in the off-season. Will Kyrie stay in Texas or go to sunny California? We all know what LeBron is hoping for.
