“Russell Westbrook is the best player in the NBA right now”: Rasheed Wallace pumped up Wizards star ahead of play in game vs Domantas Sabonis’ Pacers
Rasheed Wallace declared that Russell Westbrook is the NBA’s best player on current form, ahead of Wizards’ 2nd playin game.
The Brody hype train is far from knocked over after his insipid performance against the Boston Celtics. Westbrook has been on a tear over the past 2 months – in fact, since the All-Star break.
Russ secured his triple-double average a good couple of weeks before the season ended. He cemented this with one of the most statistically bonkers seasons of his career. This was a clear indication that he was rounding into form as the playoffs arrived.
Much of the Wizards’ troubles against the Celtics can be attributed to the foul trouble they were in. Both Daniel Gafford and Rui Hachimura – the Wizards’ two best young talents and defenders – were in foul trouble because of Tatum and his Celtics.
This reduced Westbrook’s effectiveness in the first play in game. However, the Brody is set to come back with a vengeance, according to Jail Blazer Rasheed Wallace on ESPN.
Rasheed Wallace calls Russell Westbrook the best player on the planet
Rasheed Wallace was a guest on ESPN’s First Take once again yesterday. The former Blazers, Pistons and Celtics forward didn’t shy away from the hot takes par for the show at all.
He contributed his own by claiming that based on current form, Russell Westbrook is playing the best basketball on the planet: “Russ is the best player in the NBA right now.”

Westbrook is a ways from being the world’s best player right now. Stephen Curry is doing unreal things on a basketball court and lighting up entire teams by himself. LeBron James just hit the first game winner in play in tournament history. Nikola Jokic is the MVP. But you wouldn’t say that to Rasheed Wallace before the play in tournament ends, would you?
