“Savannah James had to hold back LeBron James”: NBA fans react to the Lakers superstar getting into it with an announcer for disrespecting Bronny
An announcer at Bronny’s AAU game disrespected him and LeBron James decided to step in and have a heated discussion about what was said.
With the Los Angeles Lakers having suffered an unexpected, early exit from the 2021 NBA Playoffs, LeBron James has had plenty of time to show up at his eldest son’s AAU games. Bronny has been playing quite decently during these games and having guys like Drake and Michael B Jordan cheer you on from the sidelines is good enough motivation to show up and show out.
Just recently, Bronny’s team, ‘Strive for Greatness’, went up against the Midwest Basketball Team and resulted in a nail-biting finish that ended with a missed game-winning fadeaway 3 from Bronny to seal the deal. LeBron James was extremely vocal during this game as he yelled out to Bronny to get open for the shot.

He carried this same energy to a more recent game where the announcer for the game seemed to have disrespected LeBron James Jr after receiving a foul call in his favor.
LeBron James gets heated after the announcer at Bronny’s game throws shade at the 16 year old.
In a tight game down the stretch, Bronny James put his head down and drove to the rim from the right wing in hopes of initiating some contact for a potential and-1. Though he did not get the shot to fall, he did indeed get a foul called on the opposing player, resulting in 2 free throws.
This call seemed to have irked the announcer at this game as he claimed that the only reason he received that call was due to the fact that Bronny is LeBron James’s son and that the 4x champ is present in the building at the time. This, of course, had James heated as he walked over to the announcer to set things straight.
NBA fans were on LeBron’s side for this, and rightfully so. “You see Savannah trying to hold him back and calm him down,” one fan said while another said, “Can’t blame him, he’s a dad.” The game commentators also agreed with the Laker star’s decision to confront the announcer as one of them claimed they would’ve done the same if in his shoes.
